Updating Website - Better shopping experience

Besides being able to spend more time with the children, there is one other good thing about having the shop closed 2 extra days a week. I get to update and play around with the website. Today, I was a busy little web developer - LOL.

I was browsing around the website the other night and realized that there is way too much clicking that goes on when shopping. Our hits have more than tripled this month and we've gained several new customers. With this in mind, I decided to go shopping myself to check out the "experience". I even added stuff to my cart. I found myself scratching my head a few time when I came across products that I forgot we had. My first thought... "gee, I could use that for for something."

In my evaluation, I decided that this website needed LESS CLICKING!

Today I spent the day resizing images, revising descriptions and revamping categories. I'm not quite done, but our most frequented categories are now user friendly. Here is a screen shot of our Mulberry Paper Category:

I'm not sure how visible it is with this screen shot. You can click on the link above to check it out. We sell mulberry by single sheets and 5 sheet packs. I always had separate categories for them. Now, everything is lumped together with attributes applied so that you can choose singles, 5's and 10's. How neat is that? I was so excited by my accomplishment today! I even made a new "Add to Cart" graphic. Now if I can just find the time to finish the graphics for our website makeover I'll be set!

I'm also trying to decide on an mailing provider. I'm trying iContact, but I'm not sure if I like it yet. I'll be testing Constant Contact next. If you have any suggestions, post me a comment.

If you get a chance to check out the website, be sure to leave me a comment. I would love to hear your feedback.

Have a wonderful evening everyone!

Kimm
